Singapore

After almost 6 years of working and living in Singapore, this is my conclusion: Singapore is just a place where people come to make their fortune and having made their pile, they leave. Those who remain either have yet to make their pot of gold, or will never make it.

This is the same reason why we get flooded with unnecessary wants we have never heard before and may well get on very well without, e.g. bubble tea, luxury brands, new shops and even the IRs, and we always have to "keep up with international trends", "stay competitive" and "stay relevant".

Just as it has always been since 1819. To pretend otherwise is a delusion.
